MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Thoughtful, individualized care for children — and support for the families who love them.

Meet Valerie Cantu

Founder & Occupational Therapist, DMI

Valerie is the founder of Tiny Triumphs Pediatric Therapy. She created Tiny Triumphs to be different — a place where children are truly seen, where progress isn’t capped by limitations, and where families feel supported, guided and hopeful again.

Every child she works with is treated as she would treat her own — with care that is thoughtful, individualized and rooted in connection. Valerie is especially passionate about supporting children who may have been limited by previous expectations, helping them to build new skills, confidence and independence.

Valerie has always felt called to work with children and support families in a meaningful way.

Early in her career, she had the opportunity to work closely with a child with significant medical needs, and that experience confirmed what she already felt — this is exactly where she was meant to be.

As both a therapist and a mom, Valerie understands how deeply you want to support your child — how overwhelming it can feel when something doesn’t come easily.

Because the smallest steps often lead to the biggest changes.

A thoughtful approach to care

No two children are the same, which means their care shouldn’t be either.

We take the time to understand your child’s strengths, challenges and how they experience the world — so we can build a plan that feels both effective and supportive.

Using approaches such as Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), along with a play-based, and relationship-centered foundation, we focus on helping children build strength, confidence, and independence in ways that carry into everyday life.

Meet Shelby

Physical Therapist, DMI

Shelby provides care using the same thoughtful, individualized approach that Tiny Triumphs was built on.

Shelby is a pediatric physical therapist who is passionate about helping children build strength, confidence, and independence through thoughtful, individualized care.

She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and has experience working with infants, toddlers, children, and teens with a wide range of developmental and physical needs.

In each session, Shelby focuses on creating an engaging and supportive environment while targeting key areas such as strength, balance, coordination, and mobility. She has experience working with children with developmental delays, orthopedic concerns, neurological conditions, and genetic differences, and thoughtfully incorporates adaptive equipment when appropriate to support each child’s progress.

Shelby values the role of parents and caregivers and believes meaningful progress happens through connection and collaboration. She works closely with families, providing practical, easy-to-carryover strategies to support progress beyond the session.

Her goal is to help each child feel confident, capable, and supported as they grow.

Outside of the clinic, Shelby enjoys spending time with her family, exploring local coffee shops, baking, reading, and being with her husband and son.

For YOU, too

This journey isn’t just about your child — it’s about you as the parent as well.

Our goal is to create a space where you feel informed, supported, and confident in the steps we’re taking together.

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

A different kind of care

What makes Tiny Triumphs different is how we care for the families we serve.

We take the time to build real relationships with the children and families we work with — creating a space where you feel known, supported and cared for every step of the way.

Because when children feel safe and connected, progress follows.

More than just therapy

We believe support goes beyond the session.

Our goal is to create opportunities for children to experience things they might otherwise miss — and for parents to feel connected, supported and poured into as well.

Through community events and ongoing support, we aim to care for the whole family — not just the child.

We also stay closely connected with local resources and organizations, helping families access additional support when needed.
